Qualifying Half-Mile Run

You MUST complete a ½ mile qualifying run in under 3:45 to be considered for employment.

  1. You MUST have passed your city physical examination before any qualifying recertification testing.

  2. All 2026 trial runs will be held at South Carolina Ave. and the Boardwalk at 10:00 AM.

  3. Run Dates
    SATURDAYS: May 2, May 9, May 16, May 30, June 6, June 13, June 20

    THURSDAY: May 21

    FRIDAY: May 22

  4. There WILL NOT be a run held on opening day Saturday May 23.

  5.  If unable to make any of the scheduled runs, contact Deputy Chief Russo at drusso@acnj.gov to check for additional options.

     

     

 

Qualifying Pool swim

You MUST complete a 200-meter qualifying swim in under 4:00 to be considered for employment.

  1. You MUST have passed your city physical exam before any qualifying recertification testing.

  2. Testing for 2026 will be held at the Atlantic City High School Pool

  3. Swim Trial Dates:
    FRIDAYS- May 8, May 15, May 22, May 29, June 5, June 12

    THURSDAY- June 18

    TIME: 3pm - 6pm

   4. If unable to make any of the scheduled swims, contact Deputy Chief Russo at drusso@acnj.gov
